Seifert Racing Team announced today that Danilo Forini and Jean Mattson have been signed for next year. Forini, who had to end this season early due to Franklin's departure, has signed a multi-year contract with the Germans, according to insiders. Team boss Roy Seifert on Forini's signing: "I'm very happy to have convinced Danilo of our long-term project and I'm very happy that we now have him in the team. Even if he wasn't able to show much of himself this season, I'm convinced that that he will be very helpful to the team." Forini was also very positive about his move to SRT: "When I started this season with Franklin I didn't expect it to be over after six races. I'm really happy that Roy approached me and offered me a seat at SRT. I will use the rest of the season to focus fully on my preparation for next season and to help with the development of the car." After Forini's move to the Seifert Racing Team seemed very likely a few days ago, nobody knew who would take over the second seat at Seifert. Some team bosses spread rumours that seemed likely, however, the team settled on the very experienced Frenchman Jean Mattson. Roy Seifert on his decision: "When I presented my contract offer for Forini to the FVA, it didn't remain a secret for long and rumours quickly arose as to who my second driver could be. Some team bosses also approached me to offer me their drivers. Same with Jean. I didn't shortlist him at first as I didn't want to afford him on a budget, however William Ingram made me a good offer and we quickly came to an agreement. Jean now drives for one year on loan from Ingram. He will help the team a lot with his experience and the knowledge that he has and his driving skills are not to be underestimated either."
