After looking as though he was set to continue with another season of eVirtual, Felipe Cesar has reportedly sign with Formula Virtual team Franklin for 2022. Following the signing, the Brazilian driver took to Twitter to make his intentions clear.
In 2017, I came close to winning the IndyVirtual title. I have won races, and scored podiums every year, in every format of racing that I have been afforded the opportunity. I have competed against the perceived best drivers in the world, and yet I have not been given the same opportunities. I will no longer be overlooked. I do not yet know where I will be in 2022, whether I will continue in eVirtual, or whether I will be in Formula Virtual, but no matter what I am not going to let any opportunity slip me by. I have joined the Franklin family because I have seen the kind of potential that they can extract. I have seen the likes of Danilo Forini go from being an inconsistent but fast driver, to someone who is currently showing Nick Addison the way. It is time for me to deliver on my own potential. I know what I am capable of, and you will see that I will be extracting everything I can. I am not going to waste my career on just being here for the enjoyment. I want to win. Be prepared. As Cesar made clear in his statement, it's still unknown as to what position he will fill within the Franklin team, whether a deal has been struck to continue with eVirtual effort, or whether he will follow in the footsteps of Addison, Takahashi and Kidd and become another former IndyVirtual driver to join Formula Virtual.
