Enrique Ruiz set the fastest time in qualifying today to put his car on pole position, with teammate Simon locking out the front row - however sadly the two Porsche Mathershaws were excluded from qualifying and won't get to start there tomorrow. Pre-Qualifying Pre-Qualifying was nothing short of a domination by the young Brock Kidd as he set a smashing laptime early on that nobody else could get within 6 tenths of. The two Arrows of Takahashi and Addison completed the top three of this session with Kidd's teammate Halvosen just over a second off of his teammate. Finn Schnyder did well and beat Halvosen but once again teammate Oleksandr Zozulya was unable to hook up a solid lap, looking scruffy and untidy all session and never really settling into the car. Due to this it was the Belgian hero that once again got himself onto the grid, once again wringing the neck of his Highwind - no help from yellow flags and incidents this weekend - to qualify on pace alone. Full results below. Qualifying Porsche Mathershaw looked to be the fastest all session - every time Downton upped the pace it always seemed as thought the French team had more in hand to answer with. This will be of some encouragement for their race tomorrow as their car should be able to come through the field. Powers was able to get in amongst the fight, with teammate Thunstrom just over two tenths back. Kangur drove well to sixth fastest which will now have him starting in 3rd for tomorrow's race - but the most impressive has to be Brock Kidd. Somehow finding a further two tenths over his Pre-Qualifying time, he set a time that on merit alone was good enough for 8th place, which will become 5th on the grid for tomorrow - North Star looking set to capitalise in a huge way on the misfortune of others this weekend. Giodano rounded out the top ten, narrowly edging out Mattson in 11th, while Hunter Ryan wasn't far behind in 12th. Max Meyer put in a strong showing and set the 15th fastest time, and will start from 11th place tomorrow - another of those in the Q1 battle who finds himself in a very good position. Will Taylor struggled, and was only 17th fastest on the track and just didn't look comfortable, the car looking like it was just understeering every chance it got. The Arrows also didn't enjoy being as competitive this weekend, finding themselves a few places down from where we've seen them so far this season. The Westwood of Kinnumen completed the top 20, edging out the ever impressive Thierry Xylander. Alvarez was a far cry from his placing in practice yesterday as he starts from 22nd alongside Barclay, while the bottom three places were filled by both FIRSTS and Will Hoskins, FIRST who would have been hoping for better as their rivals for escaping Q1 looking far better placed to capitalise on those excluded from qualifying. With front runners looking to carve through the field, rain forecast for the race and some fierce battles in the midfield, this race is certainly one you won't want to miss.
