The Lopez FV Team has today confirmed the signings of 2015 Champion Elroy Wagner, and VWRS rookie Raj Sharma for the 2021 season. Wagner was pleased to announce the news in the build up to his home V-Prix at the Hockenheimring. It hasn't been his best circuit over the years, but returning each year to his adoring home fans is something he says never gets old.
"Practically everybody would say their favourite race is their home event. I'm blessed that we get to go to one of Germany's most historic venues at Hockenheim. I also get to see my friends and family from Düsseldorf which is nice because we're so busy travelling for most of the season." The former world champion also touched on rumours he was approached by other teams. "Yes, I received multiple offers. My manager was very busy during April and May discussing with them. In the end though I'm happy to remain here for next season, because I'm happy here and still as determined as ever for success with the team." Raj Sharma is bidding to become the first Indian to compete in Formula Virtual. After taking the step up to VWRS in 2020, his efforts have rewarded him with a test and reserve role for next season. "If you told me after leaving Bengaluru when I was 5 years old that I'd be part of a Formula Virtual team, I might have laughed at that. I moved to Sydney, Australia and I got the inspiration for racing at Eastern Creek watching V8 Supercars. Dad bought me a kart soon after and ever since I've loved almost every minute of racing. Now I have the backing of a big team all through doing something I've loved since I was a kid." Lopez also announced that their second driver for 2021 will be announced later in the season.
