In the week following their success at the Australian V-Prix, DS Automobiles Team Mathershaw have confirmed their driver line up for 2019 with the news that Adrien Simon and Allar Kangur will continue in their current roles. Team Principal Arthur Lapierre was in jubilant mood at the press conference at the team's base: "DS Automobiles Team Mathershaw are delighted to announce that Adrien Simon and Allar Kangur have been signed to continue with the team for the 2019 season. Re-signing Adrien was at the top of our agenda, and we're thrilled that we continue to share the same vision for both the team and his career - entering into an unparalleled seventh season with us, his hunger is as great as ever, and our shared aim of winning the 2018 title is well within our sights. Additionally, his technical knowledge and aptitude are invaluable for Robert's continued development of our cars. Meanwhile, Allar has already proven his talent in his debut season last year, so it was an easy decision to continue working with him. Our aims for him this season are unchanged - we feel that an improvement in qualifying performance and a race win are well within his capabilities, acting as a capable number two driver to Adrien before progressing to equal status in the next couple of seasons." Neither driver nor technical director Robert Mathershaw were actually present for the press conference, with the newly-renamed Montreal conference room above the start finish straight, so named to commemorate the Mathershaw team's first victory in Formula Virtual, reverberating to the sound of Downton-DS engines as Simon, Kangur and 2018 test and reserve driver Thierry Xylander were on track validating the new engine components due for introduction at the Japanese V-Prix next weekend.
