In something of a shock move given the controversial events earlier on this season, team principal Harry Westwood has made the announcement that Douglas Bacon will be removed from the lineup in favour of his American counterpart, Keith Boston. Earlier on in the season, Keith Boston had been displaying excellent form, picking up the majority of the team's points early on. However, due to a falling out with the principal on personal grounds, he was exiled from any active driving role, and shifted out for the Briton Kip Maxwell, who proceeded to perform so woefully that Westwood needed a replacement for the replacement.
However, word has got out that Harry Westwood and Keith Boston sat down and had a lengthy discussion regarding the issue. They came to an agreement that Keith Boston will be allowed to continue his role as number two driver within the team. However, this comes at the cost of a seat for Douglas Bacon, who some have argued has not received a fair chance this season. Furthermore, Boston has been told that he will find the team unable to continue extending his contract at least for the near future. We caught up with his teammate Tumo Kinnumen, who's struggled to find consistency with an unreliable car underneath him as well as some harsh luck this season, to get his take on the constant swapping of teammates. "Sure, I'm glad to have Keith back, he was much better than either of the other two, especially Kip, who definitely lacked pace in most areas of his racing ability. I think this drawn out game of swapsies is a bit ridiculous, but hopefully this will all settle down for the season now. Keith and I work well together to draw maximum performance from the car, and he will certainly be happy at the progress we've made in developing the car. I think now we are in a good position to start climbing back up the constructor's for sure." Only time will tell whether he should've kept Boston in the car, or whether he should've left him out of the car, but for now all we can do is wait and see. All eyes will be on the American to see if he can continue his run of form from the start of the season.
