Meteor Motorsport's Kazuki Armos met with Virtual Sports Neil Allenby at Axis One, Aldwych to discuss all things Meteor going into the end of the season. Neil Allenby: You've had a season of mixed fortunes, would you say this season so far has been a disappointment?
Kazuki Armos: No, we have had some good results and solid drives. We are in a surprising battle in the midfield at the moment. We have been developing our next car so we hope to be better next season. NA: You are currently in a battle with Westwood Racing, how do you see it ending? KA: You can't count out Fun F1 either. This battle hasn't really been too close all season. It actually came as a shock to us all that there was this battle. I hope we can win the battle, Westwood do have a fast car though. I have to say our recent points have been down to Romano Agostino, he has done a fantastic job. NA: You recently lost Gerard Alaniz for next season. Was it planned? KA: Ideally we would have kept him. When the 4 driver ruling came out, we decided to axe one of our drivers. For us we didn't see the need to keep a driver which we spent the most money on if he is not going to race. We can use that money to develop. He is also in a bit of a slump at the moment and is underperforming against Romano, I hope it's a blip though. NA: Are you pleased he has found a seat with Force Australia? KA: Definitely! I am glad he is racing, he wouldn't have been with us! When I informed him he would not be racing I contacted Force Australia on his behalf about him possibly racing for them, and you know how that came out. NA: Going into next season, you have a new driver line up, is it all finalised now? KA: Knowing us it won't be finalised to the day we send in strategies. We are confident in Ellington delivering solid results. The second seat is Abott's at the moment, but we also have Fazio and Lesic who could both put up a fight for that seat. Watch this space! NA: You currently have one of the more striking liveries, is there going to be any change next season? KA: There is, but I don't want to say anymore. It is simple if you think about it! NA: We have seen rumours Downton are falling into debt. What do you think about that? KA: I don't want to be rude to Bradley but I just think it is all a bit stupid. We know he signed Powers, that would have cost him a lot! He's falling off the pack this season and his budget is pretty low. It seems he can't develop the car with funds really next season either. I don't see the point in signing Powers, I can only seem him leave the team anyway. NA: Molto Veloce, do you know if there is any truth in that rumour? KA: I know they aren't around. I think we need committed teams. If they aren't here, I am fully behind Dylan Lopez getting a team on the grid. He is passionate about it! NA: Finally, if you can predict the championship results for us. KA: Jean Mattson! NA: Good luck for the rest of the season and I'll see you after the race!
