It has been confirmed that Seifert Racing Team will join the Formula Virtual grid in 2023. Seifert Racing Team, or SRT for short, will join the Formula Virtual grid for the 2023 season. The new team boss, Roy Seifert, along with members of the FVA held a joint press conference to announce the news. Seifert Racing will join Arrow Mechanics in racing under a German license in 2023 but marks the first time a German has managed a team in Formula Virtual history. It is believed Roy Seifert has been in talks with the FVA for some time, and that the billionaire has German drivers at the top of his wish list. "The team and I are very happy about the news to join the grid in 2023. Everyone on the team is very excited about the time ahead and the challenges that await us. In particular, I'm very excited to see how my still very young team will compete against the big names in the sport. I really hope that we can surprise and that exciting seasons are ahead of us. Everything else to do with the driver or the vehicle will be clarified in the next few days. We're already in talks, we'll see what happens. Now I have to set up my new office at HQ, that's going to be the hardest part of it all (laughs)", said Roy Seifert. The addition of Seifert Racing to the grid sees the current 2023 team count increase to fourteen. This is after the departure of Mathershaw, Franklin, Highwind, and Lucas - but the addition of Porsche (purchasing Mathershaw), Kowhai, and now Seifert. With the addition of three new managers, this equals 2016 for the highest intake of new team managers into the sport. However, it is believed the FVA are still keeping a close eye on other potential teams to see if anyone has what it takes to once again make it a fifteen-team sport. "I am very pleased to join Roy at this press conference to announce this exciting news. Myself, along with my FVA colleagues have been impressed by the professionalism and ambition of Seifert Racing, and I am confident they will make a fine addition to the series. We are entering our second decade of Formula Virtual next year and it is an exciting time as it truly feels like a new era awaits. The FVA will still monitor potential teams and make a decision on whether to increase to fifteen teams or not in due course. All that said, I want to personally give Roy and Seifert Racing a very warm welcome to the Formula Virtual paddock", said Nic Morley. It is highly speculated that Roy Seifert will confirm further details in the near future.
