News from the paddock is that the British driver has agreed terms from both teams to go to ROKiT Arrow, who are currently in their inaugural season of Formula Virtual. The news comes amidst fallings out at the team over the performance of the car, and internal disputes over recent driver changes added into this as well. The 31-year-old joins Arrow on a loan deal until the end of the season with a deal reported by the press to be worth one and a half million pounds. The changes inside of both teams will occur after round two in Sepang has elapsed and Ellington will start to drive for Arrow come Australia. Both parties in this deal have agreed for Lewis Ellington to join the team on a loan deal until the end of the season with an option for Arrow to purchase the driver heading into 2021. Team Principal Ben Farrell of ROKiT Arrow Mechanics had this to say: "Lewis was eager to pick up the phone to most Formula Virtual contacts for a quick seat after his team dispatched of him, and Scuderia Meteor were more than eager to discuss terms to get the Brit into a seat. I see this as a great deal and opportunity after our "disappointing" show at Fuji last weekend, and hope that Lewis can bring the same success to us as he did to Meteor at the back-end of last season." Upon further questions, BMPS Scuderia Meteor Team Principal Shane O'Connell also had this to say on the deal: "It is the best outcome for everybody after some of the things that have been said. We are obviously not in a good position this season and Lewis clearly was not happy. Lewis is a grand driver and he now must show his talent at Arrow who surely will help him to refocus and improve in all areas."
