Enrique Ruiz has taken pole position for the season opening Japanese V-Prix ahead of team mate Adrien Simon for a Mathershaw Porsche front row lockout, but the pair were run close by Downton's Klaas van Snelheid.
Adrien Simon topped the opening practice session for 2020 ahead of his team mate Enrique Ruiz by just 0.039, but his running was limited when with 20 minutes to go the Frenchmans engine went into 'limp home' mode and confined him to the garage for the remainder of the session.
