Australian team Arnello, Milner, & Ronson Autosport, more commonly named AMR, have announced that the highly anticipated American driver Brock Kidd will race in 2024 alongside the returning stalwart of Switzerland’s Finn Schnyder, with Ukrainian Dmytro Kovalenko on test and development duties. A short press conference was held at the team’s factory outside Melbourne, where work is reaching fever-pitch to develop a complex new challenger for the upcoming season amid a radically new car design. Australian larrikin Adrian Arnello was at usual at the podium delivering the driver announcement as well as fielding some questions.
“Brock has been on our radar for a while, and when we knew we could, we secured that contract straightaway. He’s an amazing, uh, kid, and we can’t wait to see how he goes next year in the new AMR and new car overall!” “Finn’s gonna give him a run for his dollarydoos, that’s for sure! We can’t wait to see what they get up to next year, provided the car comes back to pitlane on all four wheels.” Brock was reserved in his comments, with commiserations to the team that launched him towards stardom, amid the sad news that North Star Racing would not continue to contest Formula Virtual. “While I’m here, and on the grid, and able to race, Nick and the team gave me so much to get to where I am, and I have them to thank for making all this happen. It’s sad to see them go.” Finn, who delivered AMR’s first ever win in Formula Virtual, was not short on praise for his new teammate and local challenge. “Brock’s really got that racing edge,” commented Finn after proceedings. “He’s got tons of speed, and I know he puts up a good fight. It’s going to be an interesting season for sure.” Dmytro was not short on comments either. Instrumental to the development of AMR’s most successful car, he was pleased to know his obligations would also continue alongside the main two. “Really, I am happy and joyous to be here and to be working on this car with this team,” he smiled. “We made some very big moments happen this year and I want to stay a part of this.” AMR, who surprised with their competitiveness at the front this season gone, are aiming to repeat the feat. With new regulations sure to shake up the grid, it won’t be long until it’s witnessed whether they continue their form.
