The FVA have revealed the base car design teams will use for the 2024 Formula Virtual season. Formula Virtual will have a change of car design for the 2024 season, in what is the largest change visually to an FV car since the series inception. The FVA held an event revealing the car as well as answering many questions. Visual changes include an increase of width, a shorter wheelbase, a lower profile, and changes to the front and rear wing. The tyres and wheels are now low profile, with the fronts being slightly smaller than the rears. Bodywork changes are also visible. "The FVA have been working very hard over the past few months to give the sport a fresh look and new challenge for the teams. We went through many design options, but ultimately settled with what we have presented here today. I like the look of this car shape, it's quite different from what the sport has looked like the last few years, and probably the biggest change since 2015 at least. We have an aggressive looking car and it's going to present the teams a big challenge heading in to the 2024 season. I'm confident we are in for the best wheel to wheel racing ever next year", said Nic Morley (FVA President). “I’m really excited to see the results of the technical team at the FVA working so hard over the past few months, with a fantastic set of regulations and a car that is sure to provide us with the brilliant racing we’ve come to know and love from Formula Virtual. Nic’s vision in allowing us to take a few risks in the design freedoms has resulted in a unique challenge for the teams, but also a car that will challenge the drivers and ensure the cream rises to the very top of the sport", said Robert Mathershaw (FVA Technical Director). Teams will have more freedom in years as there are different front and rear wing options available, all in which will provide their own technical benefits. Teams can mix their front and rear wing design up, so they do not need to follow the exact examples that were presented.
