Following the announced departure of Mathershaw Technology from the Formula Virtual World Championship, Porsche Head of Virtual Motorsport Dr Heinrich Wallinger has confirmed the brand's plans for the future.
"I first of all want to thank Robert and the team for the three years of success we have had together - without the partnership with Mathershaw Technology, we would be in a very different place to now. We look forward to working with them in other projects. Looking to the future, Porsche is still intent on remaining in FV as a works team, and as such we have purchased the entry previously held by Mathershaw Technology, competing in the 2023 championship season as the Porsche FV Team." The car that was under development by Mathershaw Technology will be used as the basis for the works entry for the 2023 season. The Downton FV Team will run a slightly tweaked livery in this weekends Czech Republic V-Prix to celebrate the England Women's football team winning Euro 2022.
