Team 23 have confirmed they will continue to use Downton engines next season when the Virtual Grand Prix Championship heads into a new era of car design. Downton previously commented that, "the ball was in their [Team 23's] court" regarding the deal, following the announcement that they have a new customer on board for next season. This deal therefore means Downton will supply two teams next season as well as using the engines themselves. Downton said of the deal, 'I'm happy that Andae has decided to move forward with us next season. Having two teams running the engines has been a huge help to the data we've got back as it means we're getting double the amount we would to just running them ourselves, meaning we can improve them at a faster rate.'
When asked about the other team they would supply Downton replied, 'Yes, this does mean we will be supplying two teams next season. We will be running the engines, so will Team 23, and one other team. But as I've said before, I will remain tight-lipped about the other deal. We have had the discussions and we have the deal signed, but we are waiting for the right moment to announce it.' While Team 23 boss Andae d'Hazorme was unavailable to speak to us it was reported he commented, 'I'm very happy with the deal. They've helped me a million times already, I would be completely lost without my Downton engine deal.'
