With rumours circulating about engine suppliers for next season, it was only a matter of time before Honda were pulled into the equation. With speculation that Westwood Racing may part with Ferrari, and BMW withdrawing from the sport altogether at the end of the season, one would assume that some may look towards the Championship leading engine for a deal. However, despite the rumour mill continuing to try and create headlines, these were soon put to rest by Takanobu Ito's (The CEO of Honda) recent statement on the official Honda website. "We have worked well with Franklin F1, and the progress and success we have made together is very promising for the future. But we have no plans to increase the supply of engines to other teams just yet. Perhaps, some time in the future it is something we may consider, but for now we are more than happy with supplying one team. Our work ethics, and the way we work are very similar, which pieces together very well, and I think that is evident in the package we have created together. I would think that maybe Renault or Yamaha would be more interested in ensuring that they have one team to supply to next season, if they are serious about continuing in the Championship,"
