Partnering themselves with controversial team owner Joey Zyla was always going to be a risk, however it looked like it would pay off after Lewis Ellington's win in Spain. However soon after the team were expelled from the championship and many believe that BMW don't want to be tainted by association and will leave the sport completely. They will continue to compete in other events.
As BMW Zyla have been excluded the only team affected will be lowly Ingram GP. A press release has been made, stating both their disappointment and surprise at the withdrawal.
Already rumours are circulating of who will be the new engine provider, Yamaha will be without a team, and presumably so will Renault. Ingram GP declined to comment on next season.
