Felipe Cesar has claimed pole position at Albert Park ahead of the first ever eVirtual race. Qualifying was a 30-minute session in which the cars circulated without issue, with Cesar on top from the beginning and eventually claiming the first ever pole position in the series by over three tenths of a second from Alexander McLaughlin.
The Kiwi put in somewhat of a surprise performance amongst the expected front runners with Stuart Harrison another stand out performance in third, sharing the second row with countryman and expected Championship contender Brock Kidd. Will Taylor was the lead Jaguar in fifth ahead of Jochem van Snelheid with a strong performance in the Tesla car. Steffen Rosenberg and Ivan Lesic also put their cars into the top ten to make it eight different teams starting within the top ten positions, with only Maserati and Renault getting two cars inside. Kip Maxwell just missed out in eleventh while Oleksandr Zozulya was left scratching his head after qualifying down in eighteenth, but still ahead of fellow former FV race Olen Inman - who only managed to beat out Niklas Kehlmann and Refugio Boyer and starts from the penultimate row the grid as a result.
