Signature Performance team principal Antoine Tremblay has today announced his team's plans for the 2017 IndyVirtual Series. The Chevrolet-powered team will run four cars for the season, with three drivers set to complete the full campaign: Rossendo Werner in the #7, Didier Arnaud in the #19 and Keith Murphy in the #96.
The fourth car is set to be a major talking point, with the #22 car to be shared between three drivers. For the main portion of the season, Meteor and ex-Liverpool junior Jamie Gerrard will race, while for the two Australian rounds, Alexander McLaughlin will race with Holden backing. However, probably the biggest aspect of the announcement concerns the driver of the #22 car for the three most prestigious races of the season: newly crowned Formula Virtual World Champion Adrien Simon will take the wheel in search of the IndyVirtual Triple Crown. Tremblay was understandably pleased: "We're extremely excited with our driver lineup for the upcoming season. Rossendo Werner is an extremely experienced driver who never got a chance in FV or the junior championships due to his age, while in Didier Arnaud and Keith Murphy we have two very talented young guys who know this is going to be an excellent chance to further their careers. The fourth car is going to be great fun, with Jamie racing for the team when his FV commitments allow, and Alex coming in for the Australian rounds as part of our deal with GM. And what can I say about Adrien... This highlights the importance of the Triple Crown and this series in general - if the World Champ thinks it's worth a go, that's a ringing endorsement of the series."
