Felipe Cesar has taken his maiden pole position in the Steak 'n Shake IndyVirtual Series ahead of the Deutsche Post 250, denying American Engineering a lockout of the top three positions on the grid. The American team were the clear pacesetters throughout the session but a stunning late lap from Cesar saw him top the standings once the chequered flag fell, with the in-form Brock Kidd and Luke Stokey alongside him on the front row.
Mikko Heininen was relegated to heading row two, ahead of championship leader Nick Addison - who despite an improvement from the British 250 was still disappointed - and Will Taylor, whose strong form in the single car Rodeo Racing team continued. Marcus Thunder could only manage tenth for Formation Competition behind Yakumi Takahashi, Enzo Domenicalli and Jawa Ahmad - who put in an impressive time for Morley Racing. Kiara ended up just behind her brother for her best qualifying to date with fellow former-FV racer Aron Einarsson fifteenth. See below for full qualifying classification:
