M: I’m looking for £5 million. What do you think? I am open to negotiate a bit.
There wouldn’t be any catches or clauses either, it would be a straightforward deal.
I: OK, sweet. Just looking through my finances and stuff right now. Is there any chance of less than 5? I was thinking around 3 potentially
M: The thing is I’m thinking 5 purely because otherwise I may as well terminate the contract.
I: I see. I’ll get back to you, have to shuffle a few balances around
M: If you don’t want to, don’t – it is completely up to you 
I feel now I ought to put you fully in the frame why I don’t really want to go below the 5 million mark and that I’m not just being awkward. Jamie has come to me and said (more or less) he would do a deal at that price (I think). But, he said that he would rather you sign him, he doesn’t want to undermine you as I mentioned this in the forum first. Obviously, I would be happy for either of you to have him, but for me if I see 5 million on one hand, naturally I am more inclined to steer that way.
Jamie has pulled out haha. If you want I could meet you half way and go down to 4 million? (I was being generous here)
