Marcus Thunder and Formation Competition topped the opening day of IndyVirtual pre-season testing, though the eleven teams that are participating in the championship were split by just 3.2 seconds. Lewis Ellington was second quickest with a time just two and a half tenths behind Thunder, though it should be noted Formation are using a Jaguar chassis, the best suited car for the Sebring road course. Pedro Costa was third for CopaMundo in another Jaguar chassis just ahead of Will Taylor, while the top Toyota was Nick Addison for Team Morley. Addison was 1.5 seconds off the pace and admitted to not feeling completely comfortable on his first day in the car. Enzo Domenicalli failed to complete as many laps as his rivals after beaching the car early in the afternoon session and bringing out the days first red flag. Nonetheless he ended with the sixth quickest time ahead of Callum Brandon and Drake Davies. Luke Stokey was ninth but brought out both the second and third and final red flags as his car stopped on circuit twice in the space of forty minutes. Keith Boston was tenth fastest while Rossendo Werner ended the day slowest. The line-up for tomorrow sees all but four teams change the driver of their car, but with some teams running as many as four this season with only six days of testing, giving each driver seat time is vital.
