The Australian outfit are the defending teams Champions but will reduce in size to a three-car outfit for their 2019 assault, meaning one of their current crop of drivers will be left without a seat. This meant there was an additional car available for one team to expand, and the team this has been given to is American Engineering, who will bolster their line-up with a fourth car. "We've given the car to American Engineering because not only did they make the most convincing case, but we also felt it was important to retain the balance we have at the moment in terms of teams and number of cars," stated series CEO Bradley Downton. "Two four-car teams, two three-car teams, two one-car teams and five running two cars just works really well, so why change it?" For 2019 teams have also been given the option to change manufacturer. While most have elected to stick with whom they were with already, Rodeo Racing and Signature Performance have both switched from Chevrolet, to Toyota and Jaguar respectively. This means 2019 will see 10 Jaguar cars, 9 Chevrolet's and 7 Toyota's in a more even spread through the field as opposed to the current line-up of 13 Chevrolet's, 7 Toyota's and 6 Jaguar's.
