Lewis Ellington has taken pole position ahead of the Mobil 1 Race of Sebring, in what will be his last race in the series for the time being ahead of a return next weekend to Formula Virtual with Holmqvist. On a track that favours the Jaguar-powered cars, Marcus Thunder and Dino Palma led the way early on for Formation Competition, but Palma dropped away slightly as the pace quickened, with Thunder heading Will Taylor and Rodrigo Sanchez.
The two lead Morley cars of Nick Addison and Yakumi Takahashi moved to the top of the times mid-way through the session, but with twelve minutes to go Thunder set a blistering lap over half a second faster to take provisional pole position. Brock Kidd could only manage sixth fastest while the Cerberus pair of Enzo Domenicalli and Felipe Cesar both snuck into the top ten with five minutes to go in eighth and ninth, the experienced Italian ahead after a troubled start to the season. The big surprise was Ellington however. Only twelfth fastest with just minutes to go, an incredible lap saw him rocket to the top of times with just two tenths to go and claim his first IndyVirtual pole position in his last race in the series for the time being.
