Enzo Domenicalli will start on pole position for the Chevrolet Indianapolis 250 at the famous brickyard after denying Nick Addison his third pole by 0.071 mph. Addison was fastest in the pre-qualifying session to ensure he would run last in qualifying giving him an advantage, but a blinding run from Domenicalli was enough to take provisional pole from Aron Einarsson - impressing on his maiden run - with four cars left to run.
A small error from Yakumi Takahashi left him nineteenth on the grid while Marcus Thunder's run was good enough for only fourth behind Domenicalli, Einarsson and Brock Kidd. Felipe Cesar was the penultimate car to run but could only slot into second - nearly half a mile per hour down on his team mate. Addison ran last and while his first lap was faster than Domenicalli, he dropped off by more and ended up just slower than the Italian, having to settle for second and the middle of the front row.
