American Engineering will enter 2013 FV2 Champion Luke Stokey alongside Brock Kidd and Mikko Heininen in their three cars in the 2017 IndyVirtual championship. Stokey will run his favoured 88 number while Kidd and Heininen will use 3 & 8 respectively off the back of strong results in the 2016 VWRS. Kidd finished as vice-champion to Allar Kangur by just 15 points while a consistent season from Heininen saw him finish in the top five in the championship.
"In all three drivers we have strong consistent points scorers and proven race winners," said team boss Hank David. "Unfortunately Luke has just come off the back of a poor campaign in FV2 and appears rather dejected, but he's a former champion, so he clearly has pace. We're hoping this step up will provide him with the challenge he needs and will re-ignite his fire." "On the flip-side, both Brock and Mikko are coming off the back of their best seasons to date. Allar (Kangur) is highly rated, and Brock pushed him all the way to the 2016 VWRS title, while Mikko also managed to finish high in the championship in a competitive field. We're very confident the three drivers we have can put in a strong showing in 2017 and challenge for both titles."
