On a damp Sunday morning with heavy drizzle falling throughout the whole race, it was Spaniard who mastered the conditions to notch up his 1st win of the season in a dramatic race, with no fewer than 10 retirements from the race. It included 5 on lap 1, but by staying clear of the accidents, de la Fuente became the 7th different winner in 8 races. Alongside him on the podium were the only man to win multiple races, Felix Perez and yesterday's winner in Oleksandr Zozulya.
Oleksandr Zozulya carved his way through the front runners to eventually cruise to his first victory at the Red Bull Ring, whilst the rest of the pack were held up by Alexander McLaughlin who managed to hold on to 2nd despite damage to his car.
While the conditions were tough for the Formula Virtual practice session, the weather cleared up in time for the FV2 qualifying session at the Red Bull Ring, and Sergio Alvarez made the most of it by taking his maiden pole position in the series.
Felix Perez has notched up his second win of the season in the Sprint Race at Hockenhiem. In doing so became the first driver in the FV2 series to notch up multiple victories this season. He was joined on the podium by a delighted Henri Aliagas and Elnur Aliyev, both holding off strong competition to maintain their positions in the closing laps.
In a race where the Top 5 were separated by 2 seconds, and where the lead felt like it changed every other lap, it was Sergio Alvarez who was able to hold off James Vasquez to win the Feature Race at Hockenhiem.
