While the conditions were tough for the Formula Virtual practice session, the weather cleared up in time for the FV2 qualifying session at the Red Bull Ring, and Sergio Alvarez made the most of it by taking his maiden pole position in the series. Alexander McLaughlin lines up alongside the Argentine, having qualified just 2 tenths off the pace. Ryan was another tenth behind in third, but after him the next best cars was over half a second behind with James Vasquez and Oleksandr Zozulya rounding out the Top 5. While the track was more or less dry, off-line was still tricky and caused problems, especially through the fast corners of the middle and final sectors. The biggest offs included Felix Perez at Turn 7, who also struggled his way to 15th in quali, and Brittany Johnson at Turn 4. Joining her at the back included the likes of Brynildsen and van der Straten, who all had a day to forget. Full results below:
