It has been confirmed that Westwood Racing Technology, as they will be known in 2020, will return to Formula Virtual next season. The British outfit departed the series early last year and thus left drivers Karl Beckenbauer and Finn Schynder in noncompetitive seats. Team owner, Harry Westwood, has remained prominent in the paddock; as well as commenting on the FV races in very colorful fashion.
"I'm honestly incredibly excited to be coming back to Formula Virtual. I know I didn't leave in the best way, and I truly have missed turning up with the team every weekend, but I had to take the step back after 2017, and I wasn't in a good way with my health. I've learned from my mistakes though, and not only am I ready once again, but I couldn't be more thrilled to be returning to the fold!", explained Westwood. "One thing that has aided my return, is already having friends in the right places, both in and out of the paddock. We've got a good sponsor onboard already, and are in talks about the final details of what I can only say is a very prestigious engine manufacturer. I don't think I'm allowed to say much more as of yet!", finished Harry Westwood. The Westwood team have taken two victory's to date, both by Tumo Kinnumen, at the 2015 Chinese and Japanese V-Prix. The Finn will be back on the market after Franklin's departure, and thus there are already rumors spreading that Kinnumen may re-join his former team. "I welcome Harry back as a team owner with open arms. The door was always left open for him when he left last year, but now I am wrapped to see he has regained his passion for the competitive side of the sport and has decided to come back", said Nic Morley. The fans of Formula Virtual, and fans of Westwood Racing Technology itself, will now be intrigued to see who drives for the team and who in fact is the prestigious manufacturer that was alluded to.
