In a Press Conference held after the Belgian Grand Prix, an absolutely drenched Dylan Lopez confirmed the Australian driver will replace Michal Kubat for the rest of the season from the Japanese Grand Prix. The decision came about due to James' miraculous rehabillitation, halving the expected time out of racing.
Dylan - Firstly, commiserations to Michal. He is a young talent but has been underperforming for most of the season. Abel took 4th in his 4th race at Indy and Michal hasn't been able to lift the bar higher in terms of points tally, as he hasn't scored yet. We had this decision wrapped up after the last race, and we hope Michal can use this as the fuel to reignite his career.
James on the other hand is on fire. His recovery has been phenominal, and he is returning to the simulators this week. He cannot wait for that or his return to the grid come the Land of the Rising Sun.
James was not present at the Belgian Grand Prix due to the storms cancelling his flight and leaving him in Abu Dhabi until 7pm local time, when the next flight heads to Italy, which Harding confirmed he will attend the GP at the Historic Monza Circuit.
