Elroy Wagner has taken his third consecutive pole position of the season for the final race of the championship in Mexico. The German lapped under a tenth fastest than Carson Davenport. Elroy Wagner and Carson Davenport have proven to be the stars of qualifying for the final part of the season; the pair taking pole in the last five qualifying sessions. Jean Mattson qualified in third; topping off a good day for Team 23. Marcus Thunder set the fourth fastest time, ahead of Will Hoskins and Adrien Simon. Hugh Dwyer qualified in seventh, ahead of the Rossi pair of Puccio Giodano and Manni Costello. James Harding was tenth fastest for Molto Veloce in their final qualifying session. Nathaniel Powers who wrapped up the drivers championship in the last round at Brazil has made a shock early move to Downton. The champion set the sixteenth fastest time; six places ahead of his new teammate Jacinto van Slooten. Enrique Ruiz has also made an early move to Franklin; replacing Powers. The Brazilian was disappointed to set only the twelfth fastest time. The Team 23 pair have qualified in first an third, while the Franklin duo have qualified in fifth and twelfth. Franklin F1 need to score only one point to wrap up the constructors championship. For Team 23 to win the championship, they must take a 1-2 finish with both Franklin drivers out of the points. The weekend so far has been bone dry with no changes expected for the race. Who will win the final race of the season? How will Nathaniel Powers and Enrique Ruiz perform in their new teams? Which team will be crowned constructor champions?
