Klaas van Snelheid and Downton have continued to top pre-season testing on day two, but were limited to just a handful of laps after a brake failure pitched the Dutchman heavily into the wall at turn one early in the running. van Snelheid lapped the Estoril circuit in a time of 1:11.577 on the medium tyres, but moments after his session topping time the Downton was in the wall at turn one with a brake failure, and the session was stopped. It took just over an hour to recover the car and repair the barriers, with Downton failing to feature again as the car suffered significant damage. Behind van Snelheid, Adrien Simon ended the day second - impressively on the hard tyre for Mathershaw and just seven thousandths of a second off the top time. Will Hoskins' pace stunned once again as he put his Andromeda third fastest and just twenty-one thousandths off the pace, though the British driver was on the extra softs. Jules Simon showed strong again in fourth on the softs - just under three tenths off the pace - while Arden Hutchinson was the last driver to lap under the 72-second barrier, his Lucas fifth on the extra softs. Felix Pérez was sixth fastest for FIRST on the hards - six and half tenths off the pace - while Enrique Ruiz and Franklin ended the day seventh on the soft tyres, a huge surprise for the paddock who expected significantly more pace from the former triple Champions. Gabriele García had his first run in the North Star to eighth on the mediums ahead of Sebastian Bergkvist on the softs for Holmqvist, and Diego Campos in the Cheema on mediums, the Spaniard showing considerably better pace today than on day one. James Vasquez was 11th for Ingram on the hards ahead of medium tyre'd duo Rafael Palou in the Lopez - though he only completed 15 laps before being struck by a mechanical fault - and Hunter Ryan in the Ocelot, who made his debut in a Formula Virtual car. Rounding out the runners were three drivers on the hard tyres; Lewis Ellington in the Excelsior, Dmytro Kovalenko in the AMR, and Thierry Xylander in the Phoenix.
