Klaas van Snelheid has branded Championship rival Enrique Ruiz a "prat and a danger" following their collision in the Italian V-Prix that eliminated both cars from the race. van Snelheid took the lead early on the opening lap when pole sitter Ruiz attempted an overtake around the outside of Lesmo 1, but failed to leave enough room on the inside and the two cars came together, resulting in both retiring on the spot.
When questioned on the incident van Snelheid replied: "Well, it's f***ing disgusting really. By all means, attempt an overtake there. As soon as I saw his car creeping alongside I thought, 'fair play, takes balls to pull a move off there' but then he left me absolutely no room." "I was pretty much as far over as I could go, but he just kept aiming in for the apex. I can't just disappear. It was completely idiotic, and sadly he wasn't alone. To see it replicated so many other times in the race is a disgrace. The drivers all need to be given a very stern talking too." "It's especially annoying with Enrique though. He's good enough to know better, but just keeps making these stupid errors. He's a prat and a danger on track at times, and it needs to stop. He's got the pace, just needs to head to race properly."
