Magny-Cours, France – FIRST Motorsport team principal was noticeably upset with after the French V-Prix today and had some interesting statements to make to the media. The FIRST team have demonstrated that they have a strong car on multiple occasions this season, even getting the fastest lap in France, but have had no podiums to show for it so far. Speaking about the race, Blocker said:
“Well, one if not both of our drivers will be dropped if we keep pissing away points like this. Felix, who has already made a couple mistakes this season, had great pace today just like he did in Silverstone. Unfortunately he unnecessarily took too tight of a line on Zozulya in T2 and hampered the races of both cars, especially his own. Zozulya, on the other hand, has been really poor in qualifying this season and also frankly lacked pace in the race today. I’m getting fed up with it, the engineers have worked hard to design and build a fantastic racecar for this season and we are not optimizing our results.” FIRST’s reserve driver Stefan Klien will be anxious to prove himself amongst these comments. It would not be a surprise to see the Austrian in a practice session or two in the near future. The pressure is on Felix Perez and Oleksandr Zozulya to start delivering for the American outfit.
