In a small media event outside their factory in southern Italy, Scuderia Rossi finally released their Challenger for the new season. It has rather predictably been named the SR-03 and once again will be running Ferrari power. A series of new sponsorship deals have been signed by the team in attempt to move them up to the front of the grid after a couple of years running around at the front of the midfield. Marlboro and Xerox are among the companies to give the team their backing. Antonio Rossi spoke ambitiously about the teams chances ahead of the new season. "For us the target must be to break and to the top 3 and really start challenging for victories, Puccio and Enzo are two fantastic drivers and we believe the SR-03 has what it takes to really challenge this year." Both Enzo Domenicalli and Puccio Giodano were unavailable for interviews as both are currently in Switzerland undergoing high altitude training in attempt to prepare physically for pre-season testing. Jonah Phipps, who impressed during the young drivers test, however was at the event and spoke of his desire to push for a drive "The car looks fantastic and they say if it looks good it usually is very quick, I gave the car a shakedown yesterday for the first time and everything seemed normal. Testing is just round the corner and i cant wait to really put the car through its paces!"
