As the 2020 Formula Virtual season approaches, the Scuderia Meteor team are one going through major changes. Today they launched their first car under the new ownership. The car launch, which took place in a warehouse on a temporary site owned by the Caliri family near Ancona’s port, was attended by a group of Formula V media and reporters. Black and orange are the new colours for 2020, with a slight nod to the team’s most successful season in the design. The new ownership and change of identity for BMPS Scuderia Meteor is clear, with new sponsorship from Italian brands Fila, Alessi, Alitalia and of course BMPS. Piercarlo Caliri’s company logo also features on the rear wing, as well as a large new team logo on the side pods. The car will be powered by Lamborghini FV20 V12 engines, the first time Lamborghini has ventured into Formula V. Unusually Lewis Ellington and Felix Beyer were not in attendance but reserve driver Giani Ledesma commented: “I cannot wait to get in and give this car a go on track. My gratitude to the Caliri’s and Shane is immense, to be back around all of this is now making my FV return come to life, it is a dream come true after so long away.” Scuderia Meteor will have a lot to live up to in their first full season as the previous season’s car designed by the old team was clearly such a success, especially in the hands of Ellington.
