The world of motorsport today was shocked by the qualifying result of the Chinese Junior Grand Prix, where a new team made an impressive start to life in the championship, and early season favourite Yrjana Vahasoyrinki continued his impressive form.
In a manic qualifying session, rookie team Arqiva Westwood Youth Racing made their series debut in fashion with a pole position for driver Bayurn Zrigovic, and an impressive 3rd place for Luke Stokey.
About three quarters of the way through the session, Zrigovic posted his lightning quick lap time in the Peugeot powered Dallara. Dino Palma fought back from his difficult debut to take 2nd place. Jamie Gerrard showed some more performance in 4th, and early leader Vahasoyrinki took a 5th place that looks even more worrying considering his apparant race pace, where it is expected the Westwood cars may not be as strong.
