Nathaniel Powers took his fourth pole of the season ahead of the Turkish V-Prix - drawing level with Enrique Ruiz for the most so far his season - with the Brazilian lining up alongside on the front row. As expected, the Downton and Franklin quartet dominated the session, easily filling the top four spots with just under quarter of a second between them, as Klaas van Snelheid leads Tumo Kinnumen on the second row. Q1A dusty track ensured a quiet start to Q1, but lap times tumbled towards the end as the competitors largely ended up in team order, with the only exception being Lucas - who book-ended the times. Carson Davenport continued his strong form from yesterday with a time over three tenths quicker than any one else, while Arden Hutchinson's recent struggles continued, the Austrian mired down in last, nearly a second slower than his team mate. Between them, Will Hoskins led the Andromeda battle, Diego Campos surprised by beating Nikolai Milkovich, Puccio Giodano got the better of Hunter Ryan, and Dmytro Kovalenko's final effort fell just over a tenth shy of beating Finn Schnyder, meaning the Ukranian failed to qualify again, for the ninth time this season. A radio message to van Snelheid indicated Downton were concerned about a threat of rain, but after ten minutes it became apparent this had dissipated. The Dutchman duly led the way early on but was soon bettered by his team mate with Tumo Kinnumen splitting the pair, while a small error left Enrique Ruiz in no man's land in fourth, four tenths behind van Snelheid, but five clear of Adrien Simon. The Frenchman slipped to sixth by the end - thanks to yet another great lap from Lewis Ellington - with Felix Perez, Allar Kangur, Oleksandr Zozulya and Mario Juan Lopez completing the top ten ahead of the Phoenix duo, Thierry Xylander ahead by just one hundredth of a second. Johan Halvosen and team mate Gabriele Garcia sandwiched the Ingram pair - led by James Vasquez despite no running in practice yesterday - while Carson Davenport continued his great Q1 form with fastest of the 'new' teams in seventeenth. Elroy Wagner is still yet to complete a lap this weekend as he was sidelined in the garage all session with a water leak, but there were no such dramas for the top four. As the session came to a close van Snelheid moved back onto the front row ahead the Franklin pair - having also been shuffled down by a mid-session lap from Ruiz - but the Brazilian wasn't done, and duly completed his final lap just four thousandths quicker than Powers to move onto provisional pole position. The three-time Champion was lighting up the timing screens behind however, and crossed the line just over a tenth clear of Ruiz to ensure he will lead the field away tomorrow for the fourth time this season, and the second time in Turkey.
