Already signed by the reigning world champions is Enrique Ruiz; the young Brazilian Franklin has been nurturing since the start of 2013. Their other driver and current championship leader Will Hoskins will make his way over to Westwood Racing for 2015, after failing to secure a contract extension at Franklin for next year. Jamie Franklin has made it clear which driver he want's to win the title this year, more so that Hoskins has been put on arguably the more unsavory strategy during the past two Grand Prixs. During last weekends' Brazilian Grand Prix, Ruiz won his home event while Hoskins retired from a gearbox failure. However at the time Hoskins was already far out of the points after being placed on a three stop strategy. The championship team have drawn a lot of criticism from fellow team mangers; most notably Bradley Downton, and Harry Westwood with an outburst during commentary at the Brazilian Grand Prix.
Series CEO Nic Morley has came in defence of Franklins' actions, however has urged the team to put their driver's on an equal strategy in Mexico. "It has been quite controversial. Enrique has fans, Will has his fans, and I think it's fair to say the latter have been frustrated by the actions of Franklin during the last couple of race events. I can understand the idea of placing your drivers on different strategies to see which one is better. However when it involves two brilliant driver's in a close championship fight I think it should be left alone; both drivers should be on the same strategy in Mexico. I would like to see two great opponents battling each other with equal machinery, equal strategy, and fair racing", said Nic Morley. "I can see where Jamie is coming from. He want's Enrique to win, he want's the number one on his car next year and that's fair enough. Though on the other hand it was his choice to not sign Will Hoskins for 2015, so I don't believe in blatantly favoring one driver over the other just because you didn't want to pay money to sign arguably the best driver on the grid. If Jamie signed both Will Hoskins and Enrique Ruiz for 2015 we wouldn't have this issue, as either way he would have the number one on his car next year. It will be interesting to see what happens. I believe Ruiz and Hoskins are two of the best drivers on the grid and both would be worthy champions. It should be an exiting end to anther successful championship", finished Nic Morley.
