Speculation has emerged around the paddock that we may be seeing some changes to the calendar next year. It has been rumored that the recent 2018 Chinese V-Prix, was in fact, the final Chinese V-Prix in Formula Virtual. Shanghai has hosted the round since the series first season in 2013, and has held a number of dramatic races. However it is believed it will be dropped for 2019. Hockenheim is another rumored venue that is under threat from being axed from the calendar. Although it seems unlikely the German V-Prix will be dropped altogether, with the Nurburgring being mooted as a possible replacement. The Turkish V-Prix is also speculated to be dropped for 2019.
Kyalami is believed to be an option to replace the Chinese V-Prix, a track that last hosted a race in 2015. Likewise, Singapore, is also a possible option for the 2019 season that might replace Turkey. Detroit is a circuit that has been mentioned to join since 2013, and behind the scenes it seems to be much closer of turning that dream into a reality. Like every year, there has been a lot of speculation about the following years calendar, and it remains to be seen if any of these come to fruition. Although, the calendar silly season it is still an interesting time. Meanwhile is has been rumored that along with setups, a fifth tyre compound will join the series for 2019, thus giving more strategy options to teams. However both of these are yet to be confirmed.
