Jean Mattson has topped the time sheets for the final practice session of 2018, albeit in a drying session that saw a flurry of slick-tyre runs towards the end, resulting in a somewhat jumbled order. The Ingram man led Puccio Giodano by three tenths of a second, with Championship leader Allar Kangur third, just hundredths behind. The Downton duo of Klaas van Snelheid and Nathaniel Powers followed in fifth and sixth respectively ahead of Felix Beyer, while Enrique Ruiz, Elroy Wagner, Nikolai Milkovich and Tumo Kinnumen completed the top ten. There were a number of reserve drivers given practice outings in Brazil, with James Thompson in the Phoenix nailing his final lap on slicks to go eleventh fastest, just ahead of Adrien Simon - though the Frenchman got blocked on his only fast lap on the slicks. Felix Perez put in a good performance for FIRST in thirteenth - while team mate for the session Stefan Klien was nineteenth - ahead of the two North Star's, who were split by Will Hoskins. James Vasquez could get nowhere near his team mates pace down in seventeenth ahead of Jules Simon, with Carson Davenport likewise some way off of Thompson down in twentieth. Emma Wilson was next ahead of Mario Juan Lopez - who seemed to struggle in the conditions - with Sebastien Vocquelin and Finn Schnyder - who had an early off and missed most of the session as the team double checked and made minor repairs to the car - rounding out the runners. Early forecasts indicate the rain could return tomorrow for qualifying with a small chance of showers also at the end of the race on Sunday.
