Lufthansa AMR have revealed their 2016 challenger at their Australian factory, before the team ships off to Portugal for pre-season testing.
Due to a debilitating hardware issue on base, the team decided to issue a photograph-only reveal via online portals, showing the world the new Lufthansa colours and livery layout before it hits the track on Friday.
"It's an absolute honour to be finally unveiling the months of effort that went into this machine," stated team owner Ryan Petersen, who continues to make only a few rare public appearances. "Our partnership with Lufthansa will surely push this team to new heights, and look quite smart while doing so!"
The team's traditional white base has been replaced with the deep blue of the German airline, with orange-gold and white streaks featuring throughout the design. Most of the team's sponsors, such as global logistics company TNT, and Australian beverage giant Lion, have remained on board for the new season, albeit with smaller advertising spaces.
Petersen further praised the works of his team while reflecting on the journey so far. "If somebody had told me a year ago that we would be competing for podiums or even for the win at some races, I would have thought they were mental. It's incredible to think that our small outfit has come so far forward in such a short frame of time."
"We're certainly looking to 2016 with a stronger expectation than previous seasons, but we remain grounded and humble with our future visions."
Drivers Felix Beyer and Lewis Ellington were not present, but it is understood that new test driver Jarod Lindsey will be the first man behind the wheel, when it hits the tarmac at Estoril in a few days time.
