Lucas Grand Prix have participated in Formula Virtual since the inaugural race back in 2013. The British team have always opted for a purple livery and fielded drivers such as Carson Davenport, Lewis Ellington, Hugh Dwyer, and notably 2014 FV2 champion Emma Wilson. Before the 2015 season begun there were high hopes in the Lucas garage with drivers Lewis Ellington and Emma Wilson in the cars. However two races in; the season took a nose dive for the Lucas team. After the Malaysian V-Prix, Lucas Wilson never returned to his team - leaving them to go alone to the following four races without strategies or continued developments on the car. During the past three races the team has been completely absent leaving a 22 car grid for the rest of the season. Last month a deadline to enter the 2016 championship was missed by Lucas.
"Lucas Wilson has been a valued member of Formula Virtual since the beginning. I'm sad to say he won't be on the grid in 2016, but am more sad to not know what happened to him. All I can say is that I wish him the very best for the future and welcome him to pop around the paddock at any time. The truth is with a thirteen team grid promised for 2016, we need to get things rolling, let this new thirteenth team be prepared", said Nic Morley. The applications that were received previously in which FIRST Motorsport was accepted will be review and a decision will be made in the following weeks.
