Last night, during a typically flamboyant and star-studded affair, Lucas GP became the fourth team to unveil their car for the 2014 season. At 20:00 last night, after an hours worth of celebrations, Lucas GP unveiled their challenger for the 2014 F1F Virtual Grand Prix Championship, the dramatic LW-2GP, at Holdsworth Manor in Kent. The car, an evolution of the 2013 car, is unique on the grid for its W12 engine built by Volkswagen, with the team hoping it can match the LW-1GP which achieved an impressive two wins last season. The team has kept the impressive flair that always made them stand out on the grid. Lucas GP Team Owner and Principal, Lucas Wilson stated "It is great to unveil our new car, the guys at the factory did a very good job with it and we hope that it can be a solid points scorer. Just because we had two wins last year does not mean we can challenge on that sort of level again, things change fast in F1 and we need to keep up" Driver Cason Davenport had this to say: "Its so nice to be back and ready for the new season, its a great car to drive. We are not saying its perfect but we are refining the issues we have and I am sure we can be regularly challenging for points and perhaps even podiums again" Jonas Phipps, who raced for Ingram GP last year gave his thoughts on his new team: "I came from Ingram, which was a really good team, they helped me to learn and develop as a driver. The atmosphere here is so different, there is a real sense of fun in this team and we all get on well. We tested the car last weekend and it felt good and stable, a nice platform in which we can develop the season". The car was given a run round Holdsworth Manor's private track this morning for the fans with the new engine being given a huge thumbs up from them. Pictures of the new car can be seen below.
