Lucas V-Prix have this evening announced their driver line-up for 2020 in a glitzy event taking place at Lucas' mansion. The event saw a light show and fireworks, as the drivers were announced as Carson Davenport and Marcus Thunder, while Arden Hutchinson will stay on as reserve driver and be joined in his role by Swede Maximilian Thunström.
After the announcement was made, Lucas Wilson - team principal - said: "I think we've got a very strong lineup for our 2020 season, Carson was there with us from the very beginning and he knows a lot of the guys and girls here at the team, he's part of the family and we're just happy to have him for a whole season this time. Thunder is talented and I feel like his performance earlier this year was down to us and not him. We didn't give him the car at the start of the season that either of the driver's deserved. So hopefully we've got a much better season ahead of us." Davenport added: "It's really great to be in the team for another year. I've been to a few other teams in the Formula Virtual. But I said that none feel like Lucas V-Prix team. It's a very special team and I just hope we can work together to get some good results with the car." Thunder is somewhat a surprise announcement given he was essentially dropped in favour of Hutchinson to make room for Davenport, and commented that he was keen to prove Lucas had might the right call. "I've been given another chance and I've done a lot of Dev work in the simulator over the summer. I just hope that I can really show Lucas and the rest of the paddock what I am really capable of."
