Both Dylan Lopez and Elroy Wagner have expressed their frustrations on the poor standard of driving through out the Malaysian V-Prix. The 2015 World Champion went on the radio straight away as the chequered flag fell, stating, "What the actual **** did I just participate in?!" It was only the tip of the iceberg however, as during the race, multiple radio messages were exchanged between him and the team. It was little to no surprise that some of those messages referred to Franklin's Enrique Ruiz, who collided with his former teammate multiple times across the duration of the race, including the final corner of the race as they passed the stricken Phoenix of Alvarez.
In a sodden media section, Wagner got straight to the point. "If that's the quality of drivers I have to deal with, I'll quit tomorrow. Unacceptable is an understatement to describe what happened out there, not just to me, but to Viktor, to Halvosen, and to one of the DS cars. 8 or 9 out of 26 cars finishing the race, what a joke." When asked about what penalties should be put down in the stewards office, he simply replied, "Well, they would not want me working with stewards," before storming off, still in disgust. Dylan Lopez also voiced his frustrations following the race. "We don't spend millions every season to watch the drivers replicate a demolition derby. Honestly, the race should've been stopped so many times today. Most notably Beyer's insanity to charge through Halvosen like a bull. I'm looking forward to seeing him again in 2 months. I also bloody can't begin to fathom how Ruiz is still driving that car either. He's just out of control. He deserves at least time penalties for today, as well as at least 10 places in the UK. Anything less tells our fans that what looks to be unacceptable isn't so bad. A lot of people today need to take a proper hard look at themselves, and whether or not they should be here." Dylan also praised Elroy on his drive to 6th place, and ors. "On the brighter side, Elroy finally took his opportunities today and was one of the best drivers out there today. Clean overtakes, brilliant car control, and he was quick. We knew Elroy wasn't quite going to make it to the end after pitting with contact from Mr. You-Know-Who... but both he, Powers, Alvarez, Beckenbauer and Vasquez, just to name a few, have all set a standard on how to drive in the wet. 18 cars failing to finish is pretty ridiculous." Investigations on the multiple incidents have already begun within the stewards. Comments are closed.
