Milan, Italy – On the podium and during the post-race press conference in yesterday’s Italian V-Prix, it was clear that a podium finish meant a lot to FIRST driver Oleksandr Zozulya, who has been dropped by the team for next season following inconsistent performances this season. During the press conference, when asked what the podium meant to him Zozulya replied with: “It is definitely an emotional podium for me for a few reasons. For one, it feels like a lot of pressure that has built up from poor results and wasted chances throughout the season has been relieved today. I’ve proven to myself and to everyone this paddock that I can perform at a high level and that I deserve a competitive seat in Formula Virtual. Secondly, I’ll admit that I was scared that I wouldn’t get experience a Formula Virtual podium again. It’s no secret that I don’t have a ride for next season, and while I am optimistic that I will return in the future there are no guarantees of being in a team as good as FIRST is right now. Fuck, I need some horilka. [laughter]” When asked what his goals for the rest of the season are: “My primary goal is to beat Felix in the drivers’ championship, and I think I’m only a few points back after today. Ultimately, I want to make FIRST regret dropping me.”
