"We're delighted to confirm that both Aron and Kiara will drive for us once again in 2017," announced team principal Cory Evans. "Kiara has put in some great performances - and while Aron has come under some criticism for some of his driving - we've seen the potential we know is there underneath."
"Sebastian will also continue his development work behind the scenes and will be in handful of practice sessions before the end of this season, while also competing in at least 5 practice sessions in 2017. He is currently instrumental in helping design the 2017 car, while continually focusing on his VERS campaign too, in which he is - as we expected - contending for the title." Both Einarsson and Bergkvist have been signed on one-year contract extensions, while Thunder's contract has been purchased from the Downton team for an undisclosed fee (and therefore runs until the end of 2018), of which the team wouldn't be drawn into. "We can confirm we have brought Kiara's contract, but we will not announce the amount of which we paid," confirmed team owner Fredrick Holmqvist, "we do not talk about figures and drivers contracts amounts in public." Bradley Downton - team principal of Downton FV - confirmed Kiara's contract had indeed been sold, but would not be drawn into reasons or giving any further information. "As of 2017, Kiara Thunder will no longer be a Downton driver. We would like to take this opportunity to thank her for all she has done and congratulate her once more on her FV2 title last season. We expect her to flourish in Formula Virtual in the coming years and wish her every success at Holmqvist."
