As the Formula Virtual series approaches Istanbul for the upcoming Turkish V-Prix, North Star Racing have announced that Johan Halvosen will remain with the team for the 2019 season. The news comes following an excellent performance in the Bahrain V-Prix, finishing 8th and bringing North Star level on points with Lopez in the close battle for 7th in the Constructors' standings. Teammate Judson Sikes, meanwhile, recovered to 12th after losing his front wing on the Turn 2 kerb.
Team principal Nick Forrest put out a statement yesterday, saying the team was "absolutely delighted that Johan has decided to continue with us into next year." "The last two races, Sakhir and Indianapolis, gave the Formula Virtual world a great snapshot of the talent that Johan possesses," he continued. "He's done a sterling job so far this season, and we have every confidence that this level of performance will continue into the next season." Halvosen, who has scored 8 points over the season so far, was equally optimistic. "It's been a tough season so far, definitely, but everyone involved has really pulled together. Everyone back at the factory in Perth, all the guys in the paddock, Judson as well, even the guys from BMW. It really does feel like we're all one big team, the atmosphere is amazing, and I think that's helping us perform on the track right now." "I'm really happy that North Star have given me the opportunity to continue with them," he told reporters, "and I'm really excited to see where we can go together in the future." Comments are closed.
