In the aftermath of the treacherous Malaysian V-Prix, North Star team principal Nick Forrest has spoken out about the incident between Johan Halvosen and Felix Beyer, which led to the immediate retirement of both drivers from the race. The Dane initially made contact with Ryota Yoshida, before being collected by Olen Inman and Viktor Ostberg, leaving him stranded as Beyer ran into the side of the stricken North Star. Halvosen was later assisted from the cockpit by medical staff, and has remained in hospital since the race.
"I can't even begin to work out what Felix was thinking," a visibly concerned Forrest told reporters. "When you can see a stationary car up ahead, and still T-bone into the side of it at full speed, putting one of our drivers in hospital, that kind of behaviour is completely unacceptable in any level of motorsport, and there has to be very severe consequences for his conduct." Initial reports have since come through on Halvosen's condition, however it remains to be seen whether he will be cleared to race at the British V-Prix in two weeks time. "We don't know," Forrest stated plainly. "He is stable, he is conscious, he is responsive, which is always the main thing. The doctors are still running checks on him, though, and...it's completely up in the air at this point. We just don't know." The British V-Prix is currently scheduled to take place on June 10th.
