After the signing of their former driver Will Hoskins, and the announcement of 2 times FV winner Nick Addison's departure to Arrow, Franklin have confirmed the remainder of their 2022 driver line-up today. Danilo Forini will continue as a race driver for the second consecutive season, while eV frontrunner Felipe Cesar joins as the team's new reserve driver. Forini's retention has been expected since the news on Addison. The two were closely matched in the Swiss man's debut season, with Forini edging him out in the standings by 19 points - albeit without a victory. He did pick up 2 podiums however, and consistent points finishes were enough to convince Franklin that his signing after a title contending VWRS season was the right choice. He will face a stern challenge though, from the returning Hoskins.
Cesar's appointment meanwhile marks his return to the Franklin testing role he had back in 2016. He's been around the world since then, a front runner in the two seasons of IndyVirtual which included a runners-up accolade in 2017, before another two years in eVirtual that has returned 3 victories and counting. He replaces Kiara Thunder, who leaves Franklin after 2 years at the team. With Hoskins and Forini leading the team, the three times champions will be looking to improve on 2021, that saw them return to 3rd place in the standings along with 2 victories.
